College of Midwives of Ontario
Every self-regulated health care profession in the province is regulated by a College responsible for regulating or governing. The College of Midwives of Ontario (CMO) oversees the standards and practice of the midwifery profession in the public interest. Midwifery became a self-regulated health care profession in Ontario with the proclamation of the Midwifery Act in 1993.

- works with other health professionals, health regulatory colleges and areas of government which affect the practice of midwifery
