Why is the AOM offering this course to midwives for free?

Poor communication can be a major factor in unproductive relationships. The development of skills to support healthy communication and therefore healthier interprofessional relationships has been identified as one important way to address and ameliorate the impact of the underlying causes of burnout and poor mental well-being. Healthy communication and healthy interprofessional relationships have also been identified as key factors in safe clinical environments and strong clinical outcomes. Providing this training to midwives will support improvements in communication within practice groups and in interprofessional interactions.
