The Roadmap to Health System Integration report is the culmination of the Midwifery Sustainability Project’s investigations to understand systemic factors related to the current burnout and attrition crisis in midwifery. The report makes recommendations to remove systemic barriers while leveraging the expertise of midwives as primary health-care providers and the integration midwifery into the larger health system. The implementation of these recommendations will lead to improved retention and work satisfaction for midwives, resulting in greater access to primary care and healthier communities.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks to see how you can get involved in amplifying the messages of this vital strategic document championing the role of midwives in perinatal, sexual, reproductive and newborn health care, including joining our Political Action Leads (PALs) program.
