Pride Month 2025

June 1, 2025
Pride is a time to honor the history, resilience and diversity of the two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (2SLGBTQI+) communities. It is a month dedicated to celebrating the courage of those who have fought for equality, safety and recognition, while also acknowledging the ongoing struggles many continue to face. Providing safe, affirming, inclusive and equitable care to all, including 2SLGBTQI+ clients, is a core tenant of the compassionate, respectful and dignified care provided by midwives across Ontario.
In recognizing the importance of fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for both 2SLGBTQI+ clients and midwifery professionals, the AOM remains committed to gender inclusivity and human rights, diversity and equity, and supporting midwives with upholding and learning more about these commitments. Check out AOM webinars on Infusing Intentionality & Care: Centering Sexual, Romantic & Gender Diversity, Addressing Systems of Oppression Against 2SLGBTQI+ and Intersectional Communities and resources for Midwives with 2SLGBTQQIA+ Clients.
